First of all, I'm a big enthusiastic for the concept and ideology of Afrofuturism so, naturally, I spend a lot of my time searching for books and stories that can possibly be a work of this genre. I came across this book recently and it was love at first sight/read.
The Deep seems to contain all the little details and the complexity of imagination that a remarkable work of Afrofuturism has to have. I became instantly excited and anxious to have access to this book.
The little I know about the plot is sufficient to make me want to praise the authors for the brilliant idea. The cover was just a bonus to complete the beauty of this book: it is elegant, melancholic and mysterious. I can't wait to put my hands on The Deep!
