AMAZING!!!!!! I loved this book so much. So full of ups and downs and twist. It really shows you a different time. Not only was it hard for the Davenports because they are a black family but it is also even harder on the women because of the fact that back then women couldn’t do much. I know back then it was made that you married who your family pick for you even if you weren’t in love. I love the fact that all of the children and even Ruby went against what the parents wanted and tried to follow their hearts. I don’t think that is should matter about where you stand in society but I know during that time period it did matter. I am so glad that the times have definitely changed since then. I would not want my parents to pick out my husband lol. I really think there should be another book that show what happens. Did Olivia make it to Philadelphia, did Helen get to work on the cars like she loves to do and did she forgive Mr. Lawrence, and most of all what happened to John and Amy-Rose.
