Thank you to Krystal Marquis and Dial Books/Penguin Random House/Penguin Teen for an ARC of The Davenports. I don't give away spoilers in my reviews.
I knew from the moment I read the blurb for The Davenports that I would love this book. The five main characters (three of whom are siblings) stood out to me.
The three siblings each struggle with their place in the family and the expectations placed on them. The remaining character, Amy-Rose, was my favorite. She's a maid to the family.
The fifth character, Ruby, is a family friend.
I thoroughly enjoyed each character's struggles, decisions and love stories. I loved Olivia's strength, John's eagerness, Helen's determination, Ruby's boldness and Amy-Rose's dreams.
The storylines all fit into each other seamlessly. I liked the POV of each chapter as well. The endings were wrapped up but with some imagination left which I appreciate.
