Thanks to BookishFirst for a copy, in exchange for an honest review. Chicago, 1900 we find Olivia, Helen, Ruby, and Amy-Rose, four teenagers with big dreams and ambitions. This book follows Olivia and Helen, sisters whose father founded the famous Davenport Carriage Company. They have grown up with immeasurable wealth and prestige. The book also follows Ruby, Olivia’s best friend, and Amy-Rose, the girls maid. All four have big dreams and try to toe the line of what’s proper in society. Helen was my favorite as she wanted nothing to do with proper society, often finding herself in the garage tinkering on a car. Olivia was prim and proper and though she got there eventually, it was fun watching her on her journey of discovering there’s much more to the world than the four walls you grew up in. This book was so good and I couldn’t put it down. A perfect historical fiction to get lost in. This will probably be one of my favorite books of 2023!!!
