After reading the synopsis and the first few pages I can confidently say I very interested in the book. One of my favorite genres is historical romance as of this year. I love the writing style and common gestures from the male love interests. I’ve never read it nor have I wanted the show but this book gives off similar vibes to Bridgerton. Another thing that interested me was the love triangles, which typically would turn me off from a book however the drama aspect intrigues me and I would love to read more about it. Another thing I love is the history. I’m really big on watching documentaries and looking at true crime cases so this captured my curiosity and I’m definitely inspired on doing more research about wealthy black families in the 1900’s and learn about real life families. I also love the writing style because its not trying to hard and easy for me to read.
