The Davenports is a mix of Bridgerton and Downton Abbey since it told the point of view of 2 sisters with a very rich and popular family, one of their friend Rose, and the pov of their maid Amy-rose. The writing style was very interesting since it had a bit of a modern tone to it even thought the novel is set in the 1900s. I liked how in each chapter you could tell which pov you were reading. From the words and really set apart each character. Although I really liked the writing and characters, it seemed like the plot was missing something and was very predictable. You can tell who each young lady is going to end up with which really defeats the whole purpose of the struggles of the characters with who they like because it’s obvious who they’ll pick. In the beginning I did not like Ruby but towards the end she was one of my favourites. I only wish that Amy-Rose went with her the guy to California instead of ending up with someone else who I thought was pretty snobbish and didn’t deserve her.
