Set in 1910 Chicago, The Davenports alternates between the perspectives of four young Black women. Two are Davenports and the other two are their friends, offering a lovely balance of different personalities and circumstances. I enjoyed the historical details, which make the setting truly come alive. It's wonderful that this is the first in a series! I love the vibrant, eye-catching book cover.
