Just the description of this book had me intrigued, but after reading the first impression, this book is definitely going on my TBR. Olivia is a charming and proud young woman which is impressive in its' own right, but when you factor in her race she becomes even more impressive. I love to see authors writing about successful black families during a time when that was all but impossible. It is a great step toward representation in literature and historical fiction in particular. Also, the cover is incredibly cute and eye-catching. Very excited for this book and this author!
