Normally I shy away from tales centered around families because I just don't relate to the sentiments of putting family first. What I really liked about The Davenports is the external factors that drive the story. I had never heard of the family this story is inspired from and I think this is a super interesting plot for a YA novel. The writing was too simple for my taste but again, I was really excited to see where the story would take me. I LOVED that Olivia stood up for herself in the first chapter and can't wait to see what else unfolds throughout the story.
