few books hook me with their synopsis, but this book did

From just reading the back of Marquis's "The Davenports", I could already tell that it would be right up my alley. I love stories of wealthy families, ball gowns, and young lovers, and it seems like Marquis's newest novel has all of the above. After reading just the first few chapters, I can already tell I will fall immensely in love with our variety of characters, and I will spend far too much of my time thinking about them and their stories, as any good book would do to a reader.
