The Davenports has such a wonderful, and yet rarely seen, premise. The story takes place in the early 1900's and focuses on a wealthy Black family - The Davenports. This is a side of history that YA readers seldom get a chance to explore and delve into. With 4 POV, we truly get a look into wealthy society and those who serve them, through the lense of being black in history. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the story!
