A historical fiction I think more of us need to read

I think this is the type of historical fiction more of us need to read. I like the author wanted to see more people like me in historical fiction, and it’s even in the city I grew up in. This will show class and racism in an era that is different than we’re used to. It’s past the Civil War and not yet to the 1960’s and Jim Crow. What was it like then. This is one family’s story that I’d love to read.
