I have never read the lux series and when I began to read this sneak peek I did not realize it was a spinoff but I was immediately intredged by and sucked into the amazing world Armentrout has beautifully created. The book starts off with the “two girls going to a mysterious night club” trope and I was expecting a Cassandra Clare type beginning but as I kept reading but the story went in directions I wa snot expecting it too which was a pleasant surprise. I found all The characters to be very well rounded and developed in just the first few chapters I read with no prier knowledge about them and I get like I could understand them. I very much enjoyed this read and I am planning to now take a look at the full series
