I'm not a fantasy fan and when I read the description I was already telling myself "no go". However, I was pleasantly surprised to see within the first few pages that this story read like any other fiction story. It is a story I believe of a girl coming of age. Trying to find her way in the world - even if the world is fantasy. The name Evie is perfect. I love the strength, yet femininity in this character's name. I think this would be perfect book for young adult audience and something "old adults" could easily get hooked into the story line too. Guess wonders never cease and I just might really like this fantasy read. Writing was also spot on with seeming genuine; real dialogue and action.
