This book did not let me down. Let me just saw, the Lux series is one of my favorite book series of all time. OF. ALL TIME! I've probably read the series at least 6 times if not more. When JLA said she was going to release a spin of novel featuring Luc, ohhh I was all about that!!!
Luc. LUC!! The teenage baby version of Luc was so fun and hilarious. The adult version of Luc?? Holy alien babies!! He is still the smart and quick whited character I came to love in the Lux series. He's grown in so many other ways and I'm smitten. He is so strong and is almost like the leader of the pack (vroom, vroom!). When he sees Evie in the club, I knew it was all over from there.
Evie is such an amazing character! I love the way JLA writes her female leads. They aren't damsels in distress. They are bad asses and smart mouthed, just how I like them! After Evie's world was turned up side down after the Luxen invasion, she is dealing with life the best she can. When she sees Luc at the club, she has no idea her life is about to take a dark turn. Ahh, a dark turn. I LOVE IT!
All of my favorite characters from the Lux series are mentioned in the book. It makes my heart go pitter pat with happiness. The plot is super well though out. I love that about JLA! I did NOT see the ending coming, like at all. I even went back and listened to the audio version of the book to see if I missed anything. NOPE! It's that good y'all!
If you love swoon worthy characters, well written plot, and amazing back story you need to read this book. Like today! If you haven't read the Lux series I HIGHLY recommend reading this series first then starting TDS. You will not be disappointed!
