I've heard lots of good stuff about this book—a lot of good stuff about Jennifer L. Armentrout, actually—but I just can't get into this. I could barely make it past the first chapter to be honest, and that was after several attempts. The main character felt very annoying and immature right off the bat to me and made it unpleasant to read. The beginning also felt quite copycat. The underage teen sneaking into a club is super overdone and never sits well with me. Makes me feel quite bored and roll my eyes. I was also not sold on the alien premise. The synopsis made me a little uneasy when I picked it up, and it didn't jump off the page for me. It felt too forced and fan fiction like. I suspect it's just not my type of book, and that's okay.
