Finally, a book that actually looks at what happens post happily-ever-after in the fantasy world. Whenever I read a fantasy series, I always feel that they wrap up so quickly with a nice bow. This fast-paced read digs into what happens post-Lux series (you don't necessarily need to read the Lux series to get what's going on, but it certainly helps). In the Lux series, Aliens have been secretly cohabitating with us for decades. After a full-on invasion at the conclusion of the secrets, government secrets and experiments come to light. This series picks up in a post-invasion timeline where the aliens are no longer the problem: it's the government we can't trust.
Evie and Luc have the sweetest love story, and I adore some long-time pining from both sides. The plot twists in this one had me gasping, and I love the world that Armentrout has created in this universe. This series isn't complete yet, so buckle up for a major cliffhanger but I know that it'll so be worth it in the end.
