I just recently finished a book told in the first person past tense that came off as really awkward, but this book is so well written and has a great flow and readability to it. The author executes the first person present tense really well, and I found myself being drawn into the story. I also like that Evie is supportive of her friend Heidi's sexuality - it's great to see LGBTQIA+ characters in more stories! I was really upset when the except ended and can't WAIT to read the rest of this book!
