The cover of this book made me think of a romance novel, light and cheery. Then I read the first 87 pages and realized I had found something so much more! There is some kind of romance possibly brewing and that is intriguing. So much more so is the complexity of the aliens (the Luxen) place on Earth and it seems like it is a very timely novel. I see comparisons between current American immigration issues as well as the struggles of laws to protect without discriminating. I want to read more and see what develops and try to understand the connection between our seemingly naive main character, Evie, and Luc who seems to be something beyond her current comprehension.
