I've had this love and hate relationship with the Darkest Minds series. I completely loved the first book, but each book sort of went downhill. For me, the problem a lot of the time was the main character, Ruby, and Bracken's heavy writing and descriptions. That didn't changer here. Sometimes, I found myself zoning out because things really needed to be condensed a bit. However, I absolutely loved being inside Zu's head. She was one of my favorite characters in the series, so I seriously liked being able to follow her around this time. It was also great to see what came next after the third book. There was action and emotion and nostalgia because of seeing these old characters once again! So if you loved the last books, then check this one out!
