In this first book of a new trilogy in The Darkest Minds world and fourth book in the series that follows Zu and some fresh faces as they are embarking on a new fight for her life. This is a journey with a new set of main characters that shows what battles still lay ahead in this newly established government where no one is sure who are your allies, enemies and who can you really trust. This world is still not welcoming Psi people with open arms and is such a great parallel in this modern age of post separate but equal, where racism is not a thing of the past, but very much in the forefront of every newspaper. I am hooked and cannot wait to finish this book and for the rest of the series to come out. Alexandra Bracken is such a great voice in the young adult genre for all ages of readers.
