I adored this book. I had to read it super slowly and in several intervals, but it was always so easy to fall into. Bracken has a gift for writing incredibly complex characters that both make you feel for their situation and also love then beyond reason.
The new characters introduced in The Darkest Legacy were exceptional. I loved Roman pretty much from the start, and Priyanka is such a fun and smart-mouthed character! The two have this amazing bond and I loved their interactions and their quirks.
Zu, of course, was my favourite character. I'm so glad that she's got her own book! I can't even begin to express just how much I love and admire her--she goes through so much in this book and I just wanted everything for her to be okay!
I was hoping for a bit more romance... Bracken does such a good job with it in general that I couldn't help but want more than what was given!
Also, I really, really hope there's a sequel for TDL! I feel like the ending definitely has potential to bring readers back to the world.
