This was an exciting story ! I loved how it picked up after the events of the Darkest Minds series, though I believe you can still begin here with this book even if you haven't read the prior trilogy as this story runs independent to Ruby's storyline.
This time we are following Suzume, or "Zu", who was one of my favorite characters in the original series. You can see how past events have affected her character in this story, but she has definitely come a long way from the quiet timid girl we met before. She has grown into a strong heroine in the story amidst the chaos and frenetic environment that we now find our characters in. Indeed The Darkest Legacy was definitely a thrill ride full of suspense and action. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
