It was amazing to jump back into the world of the Darkest Minds with Zu, especially with her all grown up. I thought the book started at a great place and soon dived into the action and main plot of the book. I was kind of disappointed with how little we saw of the older characters from the original series, Ruby, Chubs, Liam, etc. but felt that it fit with the story line. The last third of the book really made up for this though and I was soo disappointed that it had an open-ending.
I honestly loved Zu's story and her own development away from the government and the rest of the gang especially with the new characters. I was a little disappointed that Mrs. Bracken did not have any immediate intentions to continue Zu's story but I hope she will because I would love to see it continue.
