Wow, this was such a good companion for one of my favorite series and might be the best of The Darkest Minds books. The story was deep and powerful, and Zu such an amazing character. I'm so happy with how this book turned out.
I have been with this series since the beginning and it had such an impact on high-school-aged me. I love the world and the complex issues tackled, along with the excruciating character arcs that Alex Bracken does flawlessly. I think Zu's book is the pinnacle of the entire series and she really came into her own as a character and as a hero in this story.
Although they are not touched on much (since this is Zu's book), I loved the part the old cast played in this new narrative.
