I really enjoyed this true crime novel! I liked how the author started this novel- you felt just like you were in the car with those victims and felt the fear. I am a major true crime junkie and I don’t remember reading or hearing about this case yet. It was a good dark read, and another one that was running rampant during the 70’s, right before the brink of dna, and connected police databases. This was a fast read, but I feel like most true crime books are, as you are on the edge of your seat wanting to know what happens next. But these two were different than the well known killers from that decade. As this was a bit more of revenge murders than targeted or random pick up murders. The anger seemed to always be there, just below the surface - there was finally a point in which set it all in motion for murder to become the ultimate answer. I also liked how the author added information about the survivors at the end. Often you do not hear more about them after the fact.
