Very Suspenseful
This is another one of Jessica Goodman’s great Mysteries. I was constantly on my toes and trying to guess who the killer was. There were so many possibilities and twists and turns that I was never completely sure I had it right. The characters were developed very well and I felt they were people I would actually know and could relate to.
There are so many students I know that go away to summer camp that, I feel, can relate to Goldie on some level. Each summer they go to the same camp. It is familiar to them. They know the routine. They know the lay of the land. They know the other kids and the counselors and the leaders. Then, after being campers for so many years, they become counselors themselves. This is their safe place.
Goldie is now a counselor. She is excited to see her best friends Ava and Imogene and "escape" the secret that she has been keeping. Then one night a body shows up. What happened? Someone has to know something but no one will admit to it. Goldie thinks she has an idea who might know what happened. How can she get to the truth?
