I love when a prologue is short and sweet and hooks you immediately and this prologue does just that. I can practically feel the heat of a bonfire licking at my face or the spray of the lake as someone dives in.
Goldie's love for Camp Alpine Lake is felt immediately, but we also learn that there was an accident the previous year that taints it a bit. She's timid with her best camp friends Imogene and Ava- worried their opinion of her is also tainted. But Camp Alpine Lake is not the outside world and Goldie is hoping she can hide in this bubble for as long as possible.
