The cover of "The Counselors" instantly tickled my fancy when I first saw it. It gives off very classic "horror movie vibes" with a typical red lifeguard bathing suit and blood droplets. From the very beginning the author does a great job at drawing tension which is what every good story needs to be.. well, a good story!
We learn that our narrator and main character Goldie is hiding a big secret. One that is leaving her hated around her hometown of Roxwood. I like this story because it paints an extremely vivid and accurate description of summer camp which is a place just as special to me as it is to Goldie. It's written from a "Then & Now" perspective giving you little clues of the truth about what happened with Goldie and what, where and why it all happened. If I dont win this book I think I might just have to buy it!
