The cover of the book grabbed my attention. It definitely gives us a hint that something violent that involves a lifeguard is likely to happen. I liked the way the first few chapters describe the characters and set the stage for potential conflict and mystery. There was minimal sexual content which I appreciate as I think this needs to be kept to a minimum in books for young readers.
