Coming from a disfunctional family myself I am not fond of reading about other families that aren’t functioning. They are usually depressing and any happy endings feel forced or unreal. Not this time. I fell in love with the Connellys from the minute Tara walked out of jail until their love for each other overcame, well, just everything. Three siblings are left to struggle on their own after their mother died and their father abandons them. Geraldine becomes a parent at 19, sacrificing her life to care for her siblings. She deals with her life by hoarding. Eddie becomes a father to his son and must cope with a brain injury that leaves him with terrible migraines and an inability to function. Tara tries to fix them all and ends up making a mess of everything. But the love they have for each other keeps them from falling apart and truly defines what a family is. Loved it
