Tara Connelly is being released from an 18 month prison stint and has to rebuild her life at age 30. She moves back in with her brother and sister who each have their own issues. Her brother Eddie is a single dad that struggles with a traumatic brain injury, and Geraldine is set in her ways with big secrets of her own. Throw in the cop that threw Tara into jail that shows up unexpectedly, and you have a nice drama filled book surrounding a family and the definition of loyalty and love.
I really liked We Are the Brennans so I was excited to see Tracey Lange come out with another book. Tara is an amazing character that has a lot of depth. Your heart feels so much for Eddie because he is trying his hardest. It is a very well written story, but it feels like there are so many loose ends that weren't tied up by the end. It does touch a lot upon grief and forgiveness.
