Secrets held by each member of the Connelly family threaten to destroy them and the family unit. Tara, just released from medium security prison, has to rebuild her life. Eddie, her older brother, constantly deals with a traumatic brain injury while raising his son. The oldest sibling, Geraldine, who basically raised Eddie & Tara after their mother's death and later abandonment of their father, has a good job but has a problem with stuff--too much stuff. As the family gets used to having Tara home again, a detective seems to be a little too interested in keeping tabs on her.

This family story displays typical squabbles, jealousy, and forgotten history, but also shows hope, redemption, resilience, and the yearning for a life without secrets. Every action, regardless of how wrong it seemed, was based on love. This is a story about siblings, secrets and truth, love, anger, and letting go of past hurts, and topped off with a romance or two. It's a feel-good read, one I'll long remember.
