Lange sure can write a family drama. Her characters are flawed and a bit mess, yet have so much heart and overall good intentions. I was sucked into this sibling story right away. I loved Tara's story and how Lange chose to write a character just being released from prison and all of the difficulties that can come with that. She also showed how cops can have their own feelings about cases. With Geraldine and Eddie also having their own issues, the story could've felt like too much, but instead, she perfectly captured how adult siblings can lead separate yet connected lives. Connor's character was so well done. Being a kid, he provided comedic relief whenever the story was feeling almost too tense - such a great addition from the author. This is the second book I've read and loved by this author, so she is now firmly in my auto-read category.
