After spending eighteen months in prison, Tara Connelly is being released. With nowhere to go, she's returning home to live with her brother and sister. Her brother is a single father suffering from a traumatic brain injury, and her sister is a stickler scheduler who is hiding something from her family. Brian Nolan, one of the cops who helped send Tara to prison, keeps coming around, and she has no idea what he wants. Tara has found a new job and wants nothing more than to just get her life back in order. What she least expects is to find love along the way.

If you loved Tracey Lange's debut, We Are the Brennans, then you need to add The Connellys of County Down to your TBR. Tara, her brother, and her sister each have their flaws and they weren't dealt the perfect hand in life, but there was never a question when reading this book of the love that they have for each other. They did everything they could to care for and keep each other safe, even when circumstances tried to stand in their way. That's the true definition of family and love. Tracey Lange has a way of writing about family dynamics that's gritty, raw, and yet tender and heart-felt. Even though the book may focus on one protagonist, all characters shine through. This book is about second chances, forgiveness, hope, love, and family.
