Tracey Lange has done it again. She has such an amazing talent of creating these extremely flawed families which you just can’t help to root for! I absolutely LOVED the Brennans, and am so happy to say that the Connellys did not disappoint! (I of course loved that Brennans made an appearance in her second book!) This one gets a 5⭐️ from me!

In this novel, we meet Tara who is recently released from prison, as she tries to get on her feet while living with her siblings, Eddie and Geraldine. Neither have visited her much while she was in prison, and it is definitely a fractured dynamic. Eddie is dealing with a brain injury- but doing the best he can for his family and his son. He’s very protective of Tara, and although he has a lot of potential in his construction career, his self doubts hold him back. And then there is big sister Geraldine.. perhaps I liked her the most. She is rigid, but has always had to be. She helped raise Tara and Eddie when she was still a kid herself. Will they be able to help her when she needs it?

This story is about the unbreakable bond of family. It’s about lies and secrets, but it’s also about love. What started as a fairy tale told by their mother— has remained a constant in their lives— protecting each other at all costs. I seriously couldn’t get enough of the Connellys.

In conclusion, if @tracey_lange writes it, I will read it. I will beg to read it. (Which i may have done with this one 🤣) Thank you so much to her and Celadon books for the gifted early copy. It was a privilege to read this before it is fully out in the world. ❤️
