This is the first book I have read from this author and will definitely not be the last. In this book, a convicted felon is released back home after serving a prison sentence for drug running. She has been almost completely isolated from her family the entire time she was behind bars and has so many questions about what happened.

I really like how the characters and the dynamics emerged in a synchronistic way with the plot line. It made it easy to really dig and understand the family dynamic while being curious about what would happen next. I really identified with the flawed nature of the characters and how their past actions still seemed to readily guide their present actions as they learned more about themselves through the family therapist. I liked that the intents were pure and I was actually sad that Tara made the choices she did to protect her family. I think there were definitely a few ancillary things going on in the book that really didn't fit too well, however it was really good and I will be recommending this book to others.
