After reading WE ARE THE BRENNANS, the Brennan family and their stories stuck with me for quite some time. Therefore, after seeing the GORGEOUS cover and reading the synopsis for Lange's newest novel, I know it was a book I wanted to read. THE CONNELLYS OF COUNTY DOWN tackles complex family dynamics and gently touches on topics such as incarceration and its aftereffects, mental health, and struggles faced by single parents. While I enjoyed the book and the flawed, albeit real characters, I wasn't always a fan of some of the choices made. I would have loved to see more of a concrete ending, as there wasn't a clear resolution to the short, 288-page novel. I can absolutely see this providing plenty of topics for discussion and would make a great choice for book clubs. Thank you, Celadon Books, for including me in the #CeladonReadsTogether initiative.
