The three Connelly siblings lost their mother when young and Dad disappeared soon after . Oldest sibling Geraldine has always felt responsible for Tara and Eddie even when they are grown. She is hiding a secret at work which could affect her younger sister Tara who is being released from 18 months in prison as the story begins. Tara and her brother Eddie, a single dad dealing with a brain injury, have secrets, too.
There’s a surprising romance in the story between Tara and Detective Brian Nolan who helped convict her of a drug related charge. There is a conflict between Brian and his uncle, who is convinced Tara is still helping a drug dealer. There are many misunderstandings because of the secrets the three siblings are keeping from each other.
