This is a wonderful family drama that kept me glued to the pages until the very end. The characters were rich and vibrant even as they were also flawed. The book starts with Tara on the morning she is being released from prison. Tara says good bye to her cellmate, who was also her friend, and is ready to head home and see her family. But family is incredibly complicated and from the first moments out of her cell things don’t go exactly as planned. The story shifts perspectives and shows a little about Tara’s brother Eddie and sister Geraldine as well as the cop who put her in prison when she wouldn’t give up the man she was caught running drugs for. I did find the big twists to be pretty predictable, but they were still excellent. A wonderful portrayal of a family and their struggles. I loved Tracey Lange’s last book, but this one was even better.
