This is a beautifully emotional character driven story. A definite favorite for the year. I honestly wasn’t expecting to fall in love with these characters like I did. I really felt for Tara and what she went through. The love she had for her nephew was really remarkable. Connor was such a sweet kid and Tara was so supportive. The relationship between Brian and Tara was another highlight for me. I really enjoyed their budding romance. Brian’s trauma was unexpected. It’s hard for me to put into words exactly why I loved this book without giving things away about the story. It’s more enjoyable to learn the family secrets as they happen.
The narrator did such a fantastic job with this story. I could really feel the emotion in her words.
