I really enjoyed Tracey Lange's first book, so I had high hopes for her second book, The Connellys of County Down. I was not disappointed! I really enjoy a book that develops rich family relationships and by the end of The Connellys, I felt like I really knew the characters.

I was immediately drawn to Tara, not only because the book starts with her story, but because she seemed like a genuinely caring person and I wanted to see how she ended up in the predicament she found herself in. Her relationship with her siblings, Eddie and Geraldine, reminded me of the ones I have with my own two siblings, not that we're involved in drug trafficking or larceny, but just because we often don't take the time to really talk about how we're feeling or how our choices affect others in our family. It was fulfilling to see the 3 siblings work out their differences and find ways to be complete through the course of the book.

As with many books, it's about the journey, not the destination. The Connellys of County Down may have an ending that could be predicted, but the road that it takes to get there was full of twists and turns, detours, uphills and downhills... you get what I'm saying. It was an enjoyable book and I'm so excited to share it with others!
