I really liked We Are the Brennans so I was anxious to read this new work by Tracy Lange. She has once again another wonderful novel about the complicated relationships among siblings. The book begins with Tara’s release from prison after serving eighteen months on a drug charge. As Tara attempts to rebuild her life with her brother, Eddie, and her sister, Geraldine, the story explores the lengths the siblings will go to protect each other and the sacrifices they make to stay together. what it means to be a family through the story of Brian and Hank. Tara and Brian’s relationship caused some tension in the narrative and I thought it was well done. All of the characters were well developed and by the end of the book I felt that each of them were on the path to a better existence. The plot moved quickly and I sped through this book in two sittings.
