Complicated family and starting over
The Connellys of County Down is a contemporary fiction novel about a young woman released from prison and the family she rejoins.
Tara Connelly has just finished an 18 month prison sentence on a drug charge when the novel opens. Her return home isn’t what she expected when her older sister doesn’t pick her up as promised (and Tara has to accept a ride from the detective who arrested her) and her bedroom has been turned into storage. As Tara eases her way back into society she realizes how many secrets she and her siblings are keeping from each other.
The Connellys of County form is a well written family drama with a bit of romance. Each character is struggling with real big life issues and it’s hard not to relate to them on different levels. I highly recommend it to readers that enjoy contemporary fiction about families, finding love and starting over.
