I loved We Are the Brennans, so I just had to pick up The Connellys of County Down. And I was not disappointed.

The story follows Tara, who is released from and 18 month long sentence in prison and goes home to live with her two siblings. Tara longs to rebuild her life after serving her time for a drug charge, but one of the cops responsible for her going to jail is following her. He is convinced she may have information regarding a drug kingpin - someone she worked for before - and part of him feels guilty for his part in her going down for the crime.

Tara’s relationship with her siblings is interesting. Her older sister is high-strung and bossy and has her own struggles with her job and secret hoarding. Her little brother Eddie, who suffered from a TBI years earlier, is a single dad of an adorable son named Connor, who is close with his aunt Tara.

I could’t put this down. Lange’s characters are flawed but likeable. The story and plot are interesting and sentimental. The ending was suspenseful and nearly had me scared for Tara but I was satisifed with how it ended.
