This is very much a family drama book - about three siblings, Geraldine, Tara and Eddie. Siblings who have not had an easy life. Their mother died when they were young and then their father took off. He left teenage Geraldine to care for younger Eddie and Tara.
Tara is now thirty years old and just being released from prison for drug trafficking when the book starts. She went to prison because she was protecting someone else. That's what she does - makes rash decisions to protect those she loves that get her in trouble.
This book started out a little slow for me in the beginning, though I was intrigued by Tara and what happened to get her in prison. The story picked up, though, and it got better as it went along. I finished the majority of the book in one day. If you like books about family and the lengths people will go for them, then pick this book up.
