This book was a great portrait of siblings who are incredibly close, but yet still estranged. The relationship between Tara and Eddie, as well as his son, was so lovely. Not without it's problems, as we find out later on, but something they both want to work.
Tara and Geraldine were fascinating characters and I wish we got to know them a bit better. Geraldine clearly had a lot of trauma that was barely touched on and I would have liked to get into that.
I enjoyed the romance between Tara and Brian and thought it was so sweet a patient. I understand Geraldine's hesitation though, as I would probably view it in the same lens if I was in her position.
The first half of this book was a bit slow, but once it picked up I didn’t want to put it down. The author has such a beautiful way of showcasing pain and guilt. This book gets wrapped up nicely, although I found myself wanting more!!
