Really interesting first couple chapters that make me want to read the rest of the book! The cover is very pretty as well. In the first chapter we meet Tara on her last day of prison. She is happy to be leaving but anxious to re-enter society. She is unexpectedly met by one of the detectives who helped put her away and he gives her a ride home. I really liked the way the author humanized Tara’s character by the comic she created for her cell mates daughter that visits and has CP. It’s such a small, sweet thing for her to do, and to carry on even after she leaves. It shows that Tara isn’t a hardened criminal and I liked that added touch. The interaction between Tara and the detective makes me want to know more about why she ended up in prison and the family as a whole. I can’t wait to purchase the book when it comes out and read the rest of the story.
