The book opens with an apprehensive Tara Connelly being released from prison. When her sister doesn't show up at Taconic Prison to pick her up and sends a message canceling, the man who was responsible for her arrest offers to give her a ride home. He was originally there only to offer her an apology with regards to her being brought into custody in the manner it occured; the ride just happened. He drives her to the same house of the arrest, almost two years ago. What will her life look like from here? Will she stay clean and away from drugs now?
The story has an interesting start and definitely pulls the reader in to the plot of what Tara will do now that she's free, and how will Brain, the police officer, and her paths continue to cross now that she is out of lockup.
