Oh I’ve been exciting since the moment this book made its appearance as an upcoming BookishFirst book! I loved the author’s previous book Meet the Brennars and I’ve had this on my the list since I heard about it.
The author is able to beautifully write a story with a plot that wouldn’t necessarily jump out at me otherwise. This book excerpt starts with a character named Tara who is about to be released from prison after her sentence ended. She’s going to be picked up by her sister but she’d rather be picked up by her brother. You can sense the family drama right off the bat.
And it’s well written. I already care about, and care to know about, what happens to Tara next.
